Hello!
My name is Jennifer Jones. Welcome to my page. I have over 13 years of publication experience and have been creating unique masterpieces since I was 5 years old. I grew up in the Midwest and currently located about 20 minutes from St. Louis, Missouri. I am married to my best friend and have a witty son, trio of dogs, and a menagerie of pets.
I love #art, design, nature, family, faith, friends, things that glow, glitter, mom, hope, animals, fresh air, positivity, crafts, HayDay, tv shows, MC Escher, donuts, PokemonGo, sunsets, movies, home, dogs, blue cheese olives, Van Gogh, rainbows, #typography, pets, comic book characters, color, air, games, … and much more (not in any particular order : ).
In May 2006, I graduated Cum Laude from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts and Graphic Design. During my college years from 2001 to 2005, I was part-time employed as a Key Manager for Jan’s Hallmark store in Collinsville, Illinois. I gained extensive retail and product placement skills, as well as management and customer service experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my Hallmark days and have many fond memories of my years spent decorating the store, helping customers, and working with many amazing and wonderful people.
From September 2006 to February 2014, I began my first career opportunity as production artist at HDA, Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri. HDA was a self-built distribution and publishing company that began as home plan company. Our publishing side designed and produced home plan books, magazines, and coloring books. I was tasked for magazine and book design, as well as website maintenance, social media marketings, and article development. I gained extensive experience in the Adobe Creative Suite and learned the processes of professional publishing. We had a fun work atmosphere and I met many friends for life. We all volunteered for Habitat for Humanity several times to help low income families build their homes.
While I was working at HDA, I began an additional part-time employment opportunity at Trinity Services, Inc. in Mascoutah, Illinois. From September 2008 to November 2009, I provided my artistic skills to help adults with disabilities live fuller and abundant lives. In addition with assisting with gift shop operations and fundraisers, I gave art lessons to clients at the day program, as well as maintained the plants and animals in the greenhouse. There is almost nothing more fulfilling than helping others and bringing joy and love into their lives.
After HDA, Inc. was liquidated in February 2014, I found new employment at STM Learning, Inc. in St. Louis. Being the leading publisher of child abuse and sexual assault publications, I expanded my professional book expertise into medical publishing. It is at STM that I am able to be a part of an intimate team set out to help stop abuse and provide the best treatment for victims. In the last few years, we have produced over 30 publications designed to help for professionals who encounter victims of abuse. Along with the guidance and advice of our CEO, I worked closely with our team on all aspects of the publication process.
In addition to my current employment at STM Learning, I have been volunteering at St. Clare School in O’Fallon, Illinois since 2015. I have given art lessons to students at all grades and make copies for the staff. I began to feel a real calling for the teacher atmosphere, so I signed up for substitute teaching in the fall of 2019. On my first day of subbing, I was tasked to handle a full class of 2nd graders during a surprise intruder drill. It was definitely a memory I will never forget. As much fun as it is to teach the kids, this solidified my understanding that teachers are real blessings.
Amist the social distancing year of 2020, I came across an opportunity to help out a fresh company that also wants to help others. So in August 2020, I joined the ranks of HBICHQ to help women-identified survivors start their own businesses. As senior content creator, I proved ideas, inspiration, and design for books and products designed to help women thrive in a business environment.
I created this website in hopes to further expand my design experience. In today’s technologically driven world, I strive to learn new ways of advancement and incorporate my art and design skills into different fields of work.
Please let me know how I may assist you with your artistic visions. Contact me anytime. Thank you for visiting. Come back soon and have a great day!
